I know I haven’t done one of these in a while, but I might make a couple more.
Q & A:
1. Q: What’s up with your kit? Is it modded?
A: Well, no… It is very simple to hook up this setup. All it takes is a Guitar Hero: World Tour drum kit, an electronic drum kit, a MIDI cable, and some changes to the MIDI settings on the electronic drum kit.
2. Q: What drum kit is this?
A: This is a Roland TD-9KX series V-Drum kit
3: Q: How much did it cost?
A: I got the kit for $2500, then I had to buy the stand for the kit (Roland MDS-9 Stand), which was around $300-$400, then I had to buy a bass pedal for the kit (I got a Gibraltar Intruder Series Double-Chain Drive Double Bass Pedal) which was around $250, and finally, I had to buy a throne for it (Gibraltar Hydraulic Throne), which was (a guesstimate) about $150. All-in-all about $3000-$3200
4. Q: Holy crap, you bought a $3000 kit just for Rock Band?! Wow, what a waste…
A: Actually I bought the kit back when i had Rock Band 1 about a year ago. But I never thought to mod the kit so I could use it for Rock Band alone… Now that WOULD be a waste. Even though Rock Band got the ball rolling for me to start playing drums, I would’ve NEVER bought a $3000 kit just for Rock Band.
5. Q: How long have you been playing drums?
A: About a year now… Wow, when I look back at when I played a year ago, and brought it to today… I realize how much I have improved! I used to not even be able to keep a beat. Now some of the hardest beats for my friends are some of the easiest beats for me lol!
6. Q: What do you use to capture your screen?
A: I use a Dazzle DVC100 Video Capture Device with Pinnacle Studio 12.
7. Q: What do you use to edit your videos?
A: Sony Vegas Pro 8.0
8. Q: What is your gamertag?
A: Minime220220
9. Q: Why use a different setting this time? You know, the full kit instead of the simple 5 trigger setup? I know the obvious answer is for fun, but is there anything else?
A: Well I like to show that rhythm games like these are charted to where a person with a full electronic drum kit (such as myself) can play every note as it’s charted and make it sound like the actual drums in the song. And yes, it is a lot of fun

sound quality isn’t great, needles are 10 years old, records are worn etc. not as tight or smooth as I would have liked, hopefully there is enough in there to hold your attention for the full 10. Before anyone points out the merits of a cross fader, mine don’t work!

In this Video I Will be showing you how to link your real electronic drums with Guitar Hero and Rock Band using the Guitar Hero drum kit in just 5 Steps.
If you have any questions about this video, please send me a message.
This isn’t the cheapest way to get a good reliable Guitar Hero drum kit but if you have an old electronic kit, this is a perfect idea.
Step 1:
- Get an Electronic Kit
- Make sure the drum kit module has a Midi output on it
Step 2:
- Get a Midi Cable
- Plug one end into the back of the Guitar Hero drum kit
Step 3:
- Plug the other end of the midi cable into the back of your drum kit module.
Step 4:
- Access the midi output configuration on your drum kit module
- Change the output of the chosen pads to represent the following…
- Green: 45
- Blue: 48
- Red: 38
- Yellow: 46
- Orange: 49
- Bass Pedal: 36
Step 5:

GH:WT System of a Down - B.Y.O.B. FC/5G*/100% played by Neztech on Guitar Hero World Tour Expert Drums.
All i can say is, I’m glad I got this recorded. This is probably my favourite song on GH:WT which made it that much better when I FCd it. Yeah, the SP was not used at the best moments but its still a full combo.
Edited using Sony Vegas 9

This is a drum invented by Alex Alexander. It is called the “Electric Djembe”. Everything is played on the drum, there is no midi involved. This drum is wireless, and it is a real African Djembe running thru custom Effects pedals and loop machines.
This is the only drum of it’s kind in the world! This is a Live performance in NYC in 2008. I’ve used this drum on many tours and recordings with artists like Dido, Lucy Woodward, Ritchie Blackmore, Morley and I’ve also done live soundtracks to movies and visuals with it.

OMFG YES I DID IT!!!
I’m just glad this song is behind my back and I don’t have to try to 100% it anymore. I love the song, but it’s a beast, and I have conquered it!
If you are wondering about the pedal, It is an actual pedal, hooked up to a Roland KD-8 kick pedal. If you don’t know what that is, it’s a kick pad for a Roland V-drum Kit. No, this is not set off by a reed switch, even though there is a reed switch connected to the pedal to use for Rock Band. I have a 1/4 to 1/8 mono cable hooked straight from the KD-8 pad to the GHWT drum kit.
Q & A:
1. Q: Do you play real drums?
A: Yes, Rock Band actually got the ball rolling, and I’ve been playing for about 10-12 months
2. Q: What program do you edit your videos with?
A: Sony Vegas Pro 8.0
3: Q: Can you hook up your electronic drum kit straight to your GHWT Drum Kit via midi cable?
A: Yes, although, varying from kit to kit and from system to system, a double hit may occur, in the event of that, watch this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wpkiy8aOZ_Y
4. Q: Why aren’t you using your electronic drums with GHWT?
A: I occasionally use my Roland TD-9KX kit with GHWT, but it is harder to gain accuracy with a kit that is not bent on accuracy. Sometimes, I’ll get a slight double-hit because of the cymbals bouncing back after I hit them. That’s not my fault, or the V-drum’s fault, it’s just not built for a game that counts on accuracy.
5. Q: What is GHWT???
A: OMFGEH WAHT TEH FUX!!!!!11@!@!!!!1 To answer your question, Guitar Hero: World Tour
6. Q: Your a … get a life
A: To answer your non-question, if you are really willing to go find vids of ppl playing GHWT just to tell them that they are s and don’t have a life, then you must have no life, no mom, no friends, no dog, no grandma, no cat, and no life… oh, did i say no life twice?
7. Q: OMFG THAT WAS TEH SHIZZLE U ROCK!!@!!!1!!1!1!11@111
A: Why thank you, please subscribe to make sure you don’t miss anything! It’s the big yellow button above this description and across from my profile picture

NOTICE: I do not have Guitar Hero: Metallica. My friend brought it over and we quickly beat the game to get to the hard stuff.
The first time that we failed was because I got off beat. The second time was because of the guitarist.
The song is not that hard for me as long as I don’t get off beat on the first part of the song.
