IMPORTANT READ THIS !! i DO have an ACOUSTIC KIT !! and electrics are not easy to play !! i feel better with the dynamics and comfort and bounce of an ACOUSTIC KIT !! electric kits are HARD to play infact…!! my acoustic is a TRANSPARENT ACRYLIC DOUBLE BASS MONSTER WITH 10 ZILDJIANS…but its in another country and im living in london these days..with space and noise issues…therefore i have an electric kit !! if u think the sounds of the kit sucks in this song then watch my CHOP SUEY video…ive changed the settings and tones and levels alot and improved it… this was my FIRST home video ever !
it recorder directly from my electronic yamaha dtxpress 2 kits onto my jvc everio gz-mg575 camcorder through the mic microphone input.

Welcome to VPT (Virtual Percussion Technology) For Drummies! In this introductory video, we explain how easy it is to set up your electronic drums for use with Triggering Drum Software.

Toontrack Superior Drummer 2.0 / 2.1 is being used here, but you may also use these methods for BFD2, EZdrummer, Addictive Drums and so on.

Keep in mind that VPT is all about 3 things: Real Feel, Real Look, and Real Sounds! VPT is best when you use the RET Percussion electronic drums, VPT Drum Software, and a decent trigger to midi interface like the Alesis Trigger Io.

Just got my very first drum set a week ago.

The equipment im using is….

-Simmons SD9K electronic drum kit
-Taye double bass pedal
-Line 6 Toneport UX2
-Live lite 7 recording software (frustrating to figure out at first…)

Basically, I used the Line 6 UX2 interface to first record the song off of rockband so I could use it for backtracking. I set up my xbox 360 with the audio running into the XLR inputs of the UX2, and then ran the song on practice mode so that there were no drums playing and then created a backtracking song. Then after that I recorded a seperate drum track of me playing/improving. I think it sounds well without the 2 drum tracks trying to fight over each other. First time playing the drums so go easy on me. If you have any questions on recording just ask!

Also, is there a free video editing software that does PIP for a double bass pedal shot? Or does windows movie maker have PIP capability?

trying out some VPT “E-Drums” , so far so good. professional clean sound right outta the box. using Roland TD-3 brain, roland pd pads, iMac/Logic 8, Superior drummer 2.0, presonus firestudio.

Recorded over drumless tracks, this tune is EXTREMELY fun to play!!!! was a great era for music indeed
