Can you perform the same rhythms on an electric drum set than on an acoustic set?
Author: admin // Category: Electric Drum Seti have a trashy little "starter" drumset i’ve had for about 5 years i bought from costco.
i want to move up to something better but i want electric because of the noise in my house from my acoustic.
my main issue is whether or not i can still incorporate rolls into my beat and if the electric pads have a similar amount of stiffness so i can roll.
newer electronic drumsets are able to pic up rols from you sticks, but electronics may not play every note or may play random notes from my experiance. but other than that its just like playing a regular drum kit. just test it out before you buy one

In my experience, most of it matters on the "brain." My old electric set didn’t pick up multiple bouncing so I experimented with a smarter brain and they worked. Same as when I went to Guitar Center and played on all their electrical sets. The feel isn’t the same but if you’re worried about noise, I highly suggest you get one.

To be honest, you don’t want an electric set. Unless you get a top of the line model, it will only hurt your playing. Most sets don’t pick up the strength of the hit, so every time you hit a drum, it will make the same sound and be the same volume. Many of them don’t pick up rolls either.
For the price of a really good electric set (which still isn’t as good as an acoustic), you could get a good acoustic set and maybe a screen or pads that can absorb your sound.
