I’ve just been hooked on playing the drums, but because of my living situations an acoustic drum sit is just too loud, so I figure why not go for the electric. However, my funds aren’t exactly bottomless and I don’t really know what price is considered cheap when it comes to this. So, any help, recommendations, tips, anything, would be great. Thanks.
well you got one thing right; electric drums are $$$$$$$$$$$$$$. it sucks for us, since i too live in an apartment. you can prolly find a decent set for 1500 new. ive found some very nice sets for 2000 used, where those same sets are around 4000 used. the rolands with the mesh heads ive found are the best. they respond most like an acoustic drum. those ones with the solid rubber pads dont feel much like a real set, but they work nonetheless.
i would suggest buying used, if money is an issue (which is usually is). if you can afford up to 2 grand, id say try to find a nicer set for used, instead of going with a cheaper new set. you will be happier in the long run.
